June is Here and so is Ice Cold Coffee!
Carrie Masek
Summer hits fast in northern Illinois and the warmer weather is a great time to try cold brew and iced coffee. Others drink hot coffee all year long. Some bold innovators drink both all day. Whichever option appeals to you, June is a great month for coffee!
Our Coffee of the Month for June is Cotton Candy Coffee, a lively breakfast coffee as bright as a summer morning, with a spritz of citrus that melts into a clean, refreshing finish. Cotton Candy Coffee will be available all month in both full and 1/2 roast bags.
Our Exploration Coffee for June is Organic Timor Coopertiva: A Full-bodied, full-flavored and bold coffee to drink! This is an excellent, organically certified, Co-op coffee with an intense aroma and the sweet flavor of black currants with just a hint of peppery spice. Roaster's Choice: I would drink it at a Full City for maximized richness. Available in full and 1/2 roast bags all month.
Since Summer has officially begun, we recommend you try out making your own cold brew coffee. A cold brewing process is different than hot brewing because it turns the topnotes sweet and heightens the coffee’s buttery cocoa and coffee candy flavors. It’s smooth enough for iced coffee and flavorful enough to blend with milk for a cold latte. For something even more… decadent, try putting it in a blender with ice cream and sipping it with a straw for a frosty treat!
Finally, while there is no such a thing as a free lunch -unless you’re a cute dog that is-, there IS free coffee! Just order 2 or more full roasts of coffee and enter "June" in the additional information box. We will include a free half roast of Cotton Candy Coffee - the June coffee of the month. (Though not for coffee subscriptions, those are already discounted.) Sharing great coffee is our favorite way to celebrate the beginning of summer!
How do you plan to celebrate this summer? Maybe you’ll take trips to the beach, picnic in the park, or just hang out on your porch enjoying those never-ending summer evenings? Whatever you do, we’d love to hear about it! You can share your thoughts on the Facebook thread or in a comment on this blog. Or, if you'd like to share your opinion with the wider world, leave us a coffee review on Google or on your favorite review site. Not only do we value your opinions, but reviews help more people find us, because the “algorithm” loves “engagement”. Thank you for your help in connecting coffee lovers to fresh, quality coffee!
Thanks and talk to you soon!
