Your Christmas Coffee, Holiday Mailing and Our Holiday Plans
Carrie Masek
The holidays are great time for coffee. Whether given as a gift or left out for Santa with his cookies, or enjoyed on Christmas morning, coffee is an important part of holiday celebrations for many of us. Unfortunately, the holiday season is a rough time for the US Postal Service.
The US Postal Service is an amazing organization. Anyone who's lived overseas can appreciate how rare it is for mail to travel as quickly and reliably as it does here in the US. This time of year, though, the mail often slows due to a huge increase in the numbers of packages and letters. In the past, the slow down resulted in most packages taking an extra day or two to travel to their destination.
Every year, we ask our customers to order their holiday coffee early to ensure it arrives on time. This year, there’s an extra complication. All of us here at Coffee by the Roast are going out of town for the Christmas holiday. We’ll be roasting coffee through Friday, December 21, but any orders we receive after 3 pm on Friday will be roasted and mailed after we get back on Thursday, December 27.
When ordering coffee for the holidays, either for yourself or for gifts, please assume it will take at least a couple of days longer than usual to arrive at its destination. If you need coffee to arrive before Christmas, please order it no later than noon, Wednesday, December 19. We'll roast and mail your coffee as quickly as possible. We don't want anyone to be without coffee on Christmas morning.
Have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
