Our new coffees: Organic Java Taman Dadar, Sulawesi Toranja, Pango Pango, Organic Timor Coopertiva

Carrie Masek

Early winter is the height of Indonesian season, and we just received three new coffees from Indonesia worth bragging about,.Organic Java Taman DadarSulawesi Toraja, Pango Pango and Organic Timor Coopertiva.

Organic Java Taman Dadar: Our favorite coffee from the island of Java, Java Taman Dadar is smooth and silky, with a full, almost syrupy body and intense, Bakers chocolate flavor. It's also organic and Rain Forest Alliance certified.

Sulawesi Toraja, Pango Pango: Most Indonesian coffees are wet-hulled or Mandheling processed. This lovely, micro-lot Sulawesi is a rare, washed Indonesian. This results in a surprisingly clean, smooth cup of coffee, with a full body and complex flavor: Bakers chocolate, plum topnotes and molasses sweetness. Go here to learn more about this wonderful coffee.

Organic Timor Coopertiva: Another washed Indonesian, this organically certified coffee is one of our favorites. Clean and full bodied, with black cherry sweetness and Bakers chocolate richness, Organic Timor Coopertiva is a consistently delicious coffee and the most reasonable priced of the Indonesians. It's also ecologically and socially sustainable. The “Coopertiva” in the name refers to the Coopertiva Cafe Timor (CCT). The CCT was created in 1994, and today over 20,000 small family farms market their coffee internationally. The CCT also funds healthcare teams through a free healthcare initiative.

Check out our blog next week to learn about some of our other amazing new coffees.
