A new month is a great time for good news
Carrie Masek
Since so much news these days is dominated by politics and fears of a pandemic, we thought we’d start the month with some good news. Daylight Savings, St. Patrick’s Day and the first day of Spring are coming up fast, and we have the perfect coffee to help celebrate them all.
Our Coffee of the Month for March is Morning Mist, a coffee lively enough to brighten the darkest morning and smooth enough to sip all day. For a St. Patrick’s Day treat, mix Morning Mist with whiskey for a memorable Irish Coffee. Smooth and sweet, lively and rich, Morning Mist is available all month in both full and 1/2 roast bags.
Our Exploration Coffee is the “practically perfect” Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Lake Abaya roasted to a City Roast level. As sweet and smooth as Kona, with a floral aroma and soft lemon blossom brightness balanced by coffee candy sweetness and chocolate richness, this amazing coffee from the birthplace of coffee is a taste of Spring in a cup. Available in full and 1/2 roast bags through the end of March.
And more good news: We finished the accounting and our first Coffee for a Cause raised $50 for the Water Mission: Mukuru Project. That’s enough to provide a family in the slums of Nairobi with save, clean water for years. Thank you to everyone who helped make our first Coffee for a Cause a success!
Our new Coffee for a Cause is ReNew Roast, a coffee inspired by ReNew Communities, an organization that works to increase jobs, provide affordable home ownership for those in need, and build career pathways for students here in North Chicago, IL. At a Vienna roast level, ReNew Roast is a smooth, full-bodied coffee with chocolate richness balanced by toffee sweetness and a tangy hint of grapefruit. Or order a pair for a Foglifter roast and a bolder, more vital cup. The folks at ReNew Communities helped us come up with the blend, and a portion of each roast sold will go to support the good work they do in North Chicago.
Do you have good news to share? If so, please join the conversation and share your news on the Facebook thread or in a comment on this blog. Or, if you'd like to share your thoughts with the wider world, leave us a coffee review on Google or on your favorite review site. Not only do we value your opinions, but reviews help more people find us. Help us connect coffee lovers to fresh, quality coffee!
Thanks!
