The Dog Day's of Summer are here!
Carrie Masek
It's already August and the hottest days of summer are on their way. Keep cool with coffee! Whether you agree with the Chinese and sip it hot to cool off, or prefer it frosty and iced, the Dog Days of Summer are a great time to enjoy your favorite coffee!
A good one to try is our August Coffee of the Month, Sea Salt Breeze, a sweet, full-bodied blend as refreshing as a trip to the seaside. Great brewed hot or cold. Try it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a very special treat! Available in both full and 1/2 roast bags through the month of August.
Our Exploration Coffee for August is so good, it’s also our newest Roaster’s Gold! Costa Rica Black Honey is produced by the Monge family who own a 12 acre farm in Tarrazu, our favorite coffee growing region of Costa Rica. They process their beans using honey process, a form of natural processing, that results in a very sweet coffee, with a smooth, silky body, a sweet, herbal aroma, lively peach and sweet melon notes, chocolate richness and a lingering dried fruit finish. A light (City) roast level brings out the lively peach notes, but try it darker (a Vienna roast or darker), for a coffee that’s as sweet as Kona. Wonderful hot, especially with a drop of cream, this coffee also makes outstanding Cold Brew. Costa Rica Black Honey will be available all month in both full and 1/2 roast bags.
We haven’t quite finished the blog post yet, but our next Spotlight Coffee will be a lovely new coffee from Kenya, Kenya AA Plus. This auction lot find features tangy acidity with citrus sweetness and chocolate richness for a satisfying and balanced cup. Look for our next Spotlight blog post for more about this coffee and the Kenya Coffee Auction.
Finally, to thank the readers of this blog, we're offering a Free 1/2 roast of Sea Salt Breeze with your first order of the month. Just write, "August," in the box for Additional Instructions and we'll throw in the extra bag at no extra charge.
Sharing great coffee is our favorite way to keep cool during the Dog Days of Summer.
