Coffee by the Roast flat rate shipping and the new postal rates
Carrie Masek
Coffee by the Roast has always charged a flat rate for shipping. We ask our customers to pay the cost of shipping the first roast of coffee. If the order is for more than one roast, the additional postage is on us. On Sunday, January 21, the USPS raised first class and priority mail postage rates. The cost of a first class stamp went up to $.50, and the cost of flat rate envelopes and boxes also increased. Our cost of shipping a single roast of coffee has gone up as a result and is now well over the $6 we've charged for the last two years.
Effective February 1, 2018, we will be raising our flat rate shipping charge to $7 to cover the increased postage. As always, there will be no additional shipping charge for orders larger than a single roast.
For those close enough to pick up their coffee, we have a special coupon code that will remove the shipping charge. Just type pickup in the box for coupon codes. Please let us know when you plan to come. That way we can schedule your coffee's roasting to ensure it's as fresh as possible.
The best way to let us know is to leave a note in the box for "additional instructions." You can also call 847-578-0772 or drop us an email at mail@coffeebytheroast.com.
We value your business and regret the need to increase the cost of your coffee!
