New Website/New Names
Carrie Masek
Our new website is launching this weekend! We've made some changes that will hopefully make the site easier to navigate and more fun to use.
One of the biggest changes is the names of our Signature Blends and Espressos. They're still the great coffees you love, but we decided it would be fun to add historical context to the names. We call it “A Taste in Time” and have added the year the coffee was developed or most commonly used to the coffees' names. We've also changed some of the names themselves to capture the most interesting location associated with the coffee. I'll be writing a blog about the historical contexts of the new names later, but to minimize frustration and confusion in the meantime, here's a list of our Signature Blends and Espressos alongside their new names:
Signature Blend/Espresso A Taste in Time
Boston Blend WW1 Roast 1917
Chicago Blend Chicago Cup 1925
Espresso Milano Espresso Milano 1900
Espresso Portland Espresso Pacifico 1985
Espresso Trieste Espresso Trieste 1930
Historic Mokha Java Mokha Java 1790
Ile de France Blend Ile de France 1700
Kona Blend Kona Coffee 1964
Mokha Java Cafe Mokha Java 2000
New Orleans Blend New Orleans Roast 1803
San Francisco Blend San Francisco Foglifter 1950
St. Louis Blend Cowboy Coffee 1870
We are also introducing two new coffees in our Taste in Time. Espresso Kyoto 2010, a lively, sweet and rich espresso inspired by the espresso enjoyed in modern Japanese coffee houses and On the Road Buzz 1990, a high-caffeine, big-flavor coffee designed to fuel the longest road trip.
A quick word about bookmarks. Since most of our coffees' names are changing, the direct URL to their product will be changing as well. In theory, the old pages will all redirect to the new ones, there's a chance you'll get an error message. If you do, please return to our home page by “clicking here.” The website should take you to the new home page where you can easily find your coffee.
If you have any problems, please contact us. We'll be happy to answer any questions!
Thank you for being part of Coffee by the Roast. We hope you enjoy the new website as much as we do!
