A note about Holiday Mailing
Carrie Masek
Happy Holidays!
‘Tis the season for gift giving, treat sharing and getting together with friends and family. It’s also the time of year when the USPS slows down and packages take longer to travel.
Because of the pandemic, many of us are still celebrating the holidays with our family and friends…but at a distance. We’re sharing holiday greetings over Zoom and Skype. We’re dropping off holiday treats and presents on nearby doorsteps. And we’re making many more trips to the post office to mail cards, presents and treats to more distant loved ones.
All the extra packages are slowing the mail. So are the number of postal workers affected by Covid. Adding to the delays, federal decisions to pursue cost cutting measures to reduce staff, machines and sorting times.
Packages that usually arrive the next day are (sometimes) taking several days before they’re delivered. For packages traveling farther, or to more isolated communities, we’ve seen delays of a week or more.
If you have a package that seems to be taking too long to arrive, you can track it yourself on the USPS website. Here's how/the easiest way:
1) From the Fulfillment email you received when we mailed your coffee, click on the tracking number at the top of the email.
2) The tracking number takes you to USPS.com, where you'll see your package's status and expected delivery date at the top of the USPS page.
3) Scroll down a bit, and you'll see an option for "Tracking History."
4) Click on Tracking History to see the journey your package has taken so far.
If your package made it to your local post office, consider calling them to get more information. If the package is “in transit” and there’s no other information, please feel free to contact us. We’re happy to see if we can get any more information.
In the 17 years we’ve been in business, the USPS has only lost one of our packages. So chances are excellent that even with the delays, your coffee will eventually get to you. Your delay shouldn't be longer than a week. Priority Mail normally takes 2-3 days, so if you haven’t received your coffee by 10 days after we mailed it, please let us know. Worst case, we’ll replace your order and hope that this time it arrives closer to schedule.
And please order early. We’re suggesting customers place their orders for Christmas coffee and gifts by Monday, December 14, to ensure they arrive before Christmas.
Thanks!
Have a healthy and happy Holiday Season!
